Giving a little time to take part in an activity you love can help to build lifelong friendships, gain new skills, develop self-confidence and above all, have fun! From gardening to retail and befriending to events, local charities and organisations are on the lookout for helping hands.
Drop in sessions
One-to-one chat about volunteering with a CAN member of staff
To match potential volunteers to a rewarding role that’s close to their hearts, CAN will be holding regular drop-in sessions across the BCP over 2023/24, starting July. Simply turn up and chat to a friendly member of the CAN team – no booking is needed.

Online information sessions
Have you thought about volunteering but don’t know where to start? Are you looking to share your skills and experience to help others but need help to find the right role? This 30-minute session is an introduction to volunteering in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole and will provide you with all the information you need to find a role you love. The session will cover:

- The benefits of volunteering
- What you should consider when looking for a volunteer role
- What volunteering opportunities are available
- How to find and apply for a suitable volunteer role
