Supporting essential public health messaging

We’ve been commissioned by Public Health Dorset to work in partnership with Dorset Community Action (DCA) to support the development of Trusted Voices in the community to help us better engage with the broad range of communities across the county.

Set up initially to support public health messaging during the pandemic, the project has grown and grown. Feedback received from those involved in the project means we’re continuing to share messages about Covid-19 and the vaccinations, but now also include messaging to help with the cost of living, as well as mental and physical health.

We’ve developed a network of ‘Trusted Voices Champions’ who work with us to share messages with their communities as well as – crucially –  feeding back to us what support and advice their communities need. Our Trusted Voice Champions include established community leaders, workplace leaders including, of course, many in the voluntary sector and individuals who represent their family, friends and community.

By becoming a Trusted Voice Champion you can help us reach as many people as possible in our communities and ensure we hear genuine and accurate messages about what support is needed to aid recovery from the pandemic, support with the cost of living and mental and physical wellbeing.

For more information about the project or to join us as a Trusted Voices Champion contact Hannah Rees, Engagement Lead, hannah.rees@can100.org

Our work is possible thanks to funding from our partners, Public Health Dorset
