CAN’s volunteering hub supports organisations to be better placed to involve volunteers, and to advertise volunteering opportunities that are positive both for the organisation and the individual. We can help your organisation improve the recruitment and retention of volunteers, and be better able to provide good volunteer management.

We offer a range of services to organisations that includes:

  • Supporting organisations to have the right policies and procedures in place for volunteers
  • Support in reviewing and creating new volunteering opportunities
  • Promotion of volunteering opportunities through our online volunteer portal – this enables you to advertise your volunteer roles and manage and track volunteers who’ve registered an interest. You can also proactively search our volunteer bank for volunteers who meet your requirements.
  • Promotion of volunteering at volunteer fairs, volunteers drop-in sessions, and other promotional events.
  • One-to-one advice on specific issues relevant to your organisation around volunteer management
  • Quarterly forum for volunteer managers/co-ordinators
  • Training for your volunteers
  • Volunteer Coordinators mailing list.

So, if your organisation works with volunteers, or is looking to develop work with volunteers and you would like some help, please get in touch.

Support Available

Quarterly Volunteer Coordinators meeting – we know managing volunteers requires extensive leadership and management skills and is different to managing staff, in fact we think it’s harder, so we bring together people who do this amazing role to offer friendly support, advice and guidance from us and with their peers.

Free webinars – our monthly webinars are aimed at helping Volunteer Managers with good practice around recruiting and managing volunteers and the policies and procedures needed.

One-to-one advice and support – if you are looking for help with policies and procedures, have a general query around volunteer management or just need some advice over a cuppa, then let us know and we will arrange a meeting with you either virtually or face-to-face.

Visit Training & Events for the dates of upcoming training, webinars, and networking opportunities.
