Welcome to our Volunteering Hub and online portal, where CAN members can advertise available volunteering opportunities across the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

CAN Members – how to proceed

Our online volunteering portal is provided by TeamKinetic (TK) and it’s quick and easy to use. You can view all current volunteering opportunities at any time, but to advertise your own volunteering vacancies you need to be a registered user.

To begin, please either LOGIN now, or REGISTER and complete your organisation profile.

Once your application has been approved by our team, you will be able to login to your account at any time to add, amend and delete volunteering opportunities, to update your organisation records and log volunteers that have started with you. You can also say if you would like your roles viewable to volunteers across wider Dorset.

Email alerts

Whenever someone expresses an interest in one of your roles, you will automatically be sent an email alert to let you know. This email will include the volunteer’s name and contact details. You can then login to TK and see their full profile via your organisation dashboard.

We run regular online training sessions on ‘How to use TeamKinetic’. Visit CAN training and free webinars for upcoming session dates and details of how to book on.

Tips for recruiting volunteers

Make it as easy as possible for people to offer their help by following these hints and tips:

  • Explain how to apply: by telephone, application form, letter or email
  • Many volunteer roles do not require a DBS check, but if you do please explain from the start
  • Meet potential volunteers to find out if they are right for you – and you are right for them
  • Consider offering flexible volunteering opportunities – more people are likely to come forward
  • Include information about how accessible the role is for people with additional needs.
